Agentic AI for Business Professionals

Course Description

Agentic AI is the next step beyond conventional chatbots. AI agents can follow defined workflows, work with approved business information, use selected tools, prepare structured outputs and support business processes with appropriate human oversight.

This practical programme is designed for managers, executives, entrepreneurs, consultants and business professionals who want to identify high-value opportunities for Agentic AI and understand how to move from an idea to a practical business solution.

No programming or technical background is required. Each participant selects an approved business use case and works with Innosoft Gulf to design, build, test and demonstrate a working AI agent within the agreed programme scope.

Your Working AI Agent

This programme goes beyond AI awareness and conceptual exercises. Each participant selects an approved business use case and works with Innosoft Gulf to design, prototype, test and demonstrate a working AI agent within the agreed programme scope.

The agent may use approved documents, business rules and selected tools, and may be delivered through an appropriate interface such as a web application, Telegram or another agreed channel.

Development of a working prototype is included within the programme scope. Production deployment, enterprise integrations, long-term hosting and additional custom development can be provided separately based on the organisation’s requirements.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how Agentic AI differs from chatbots and conventional automation.
  • Identify high-value business processes where AI agents can create measurable impact.
  • Design practical agent workflows using approved knowledge, tools and human controls.
  • Define the privacy, security, reliability and governance controls required for responsible use.
  • Test and evaluate agent performance against practical business criteria.
  • Work with Innosoft Gulf to design, prototype, test and demonstrate a working AI agent.
  • Develop a practical roadmap for taking the selected use case toward organisational implementation.

Programme Curriculum

Explore the eight modules that take participants from understanding Agentic AI to designing, prototyping and presenting a practical business agent.

Module 1

Understanding Agentic AI and Agentic Workflows

Understand how Agentic AI extends beyond chatbots and conventional automation, and how agentic workflows can support practical business processes.

Key Topics

  • From generative AI and chatbots to AI agents
  • How agentic workflows operate
  • Goals, tasks, tools, memory and actions
  • Degrees of autonomy and human oversight
  • Business benefits of agentic workflows
  • Examples of practical Agentic AI applications
  • Introduction to task decomposition and evaluation
Practical workshop: Identify where Agentic AI can improve a real business process and determine the appropriate level of autonomy.

Module 2

Improving Agent Quality with Reflection and Feedback

Understand how reflection and feedback can help AI agents review, improve and strengthen the quality of their outputs.

Key Topics

  • Why AI agents need mechanisms to review and improve their own outputs
  • Reflection versus direct generation
  • Using feedback to improve quality and reliability
  • Reviewing outputs against business criteria
  • Human and external feedback in agent workflows
  • Practical examples of reflection in business applications
Practical workshop: Review an agent output, identify weaknesses, and define a simple reflection or feedback step to improve the result.

Module 3

Business Knowledge, Knowledge Bases and Grounded AI

Understand how AI agents use approved business knowledge, knowledge bases and retrieval to provide grounded, traceable answers.

Key Topics

  • Policies, contracts, reports and internal documents
  • Structured and unstructured business knowledge
  • Knowledge bases and retrieval
  • Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) in business terms
  • Source attribution and evidence traceability
  • Tables, images and scanned documents
  • Data quality and confidentiality
Practical demonstration: Ask an agent questions using an approved private knowledge base and review the supporting sources.

Module 4

Tools, Functions and Business Systems

Understand why AI agents use tools, how they decide when to call them, and how business systems can be accessed safely and with appropriate controls.

Key Topics

  • Why agents need tools
  • How an agent decides when to use a tool
  • Functions and APIs in business terms
  • Email, calendars, CRM systems, databases and business applications
  • Code execution as a controlled tool
  • Introduction to the Model Context Protocol (MCP)
  • Permissions, approvals and safe tool use
Practical demonstration: Review an agent that uses an approved tool to retrieve or process business information.

Module 5

Designing the Agent Workflow

Translate a business process into a structured agent workflow without writing software code.

Key Topics

  • Users, goals and trigger events
  • Tasks, decisions and workflow steps
  • Business rules and operating boundaries
  • Inputs, outputs and exception paths
  • Approval and escalation points
  • Success and failure conditions
Practical workshop: Create the workflow and functional specification for the agent.

Module 6

Evaluating and Improving AI Agent Performance

Learn how to evaluate whether an AI agent is useful, reliable and cost-effective, and how to identify and improve weak points in the workflow.

Key Topics

  • Defining business success criteria and quality measures
  • Identifying errors and recurring failure patterns
  • Evaluating individual workflow components
  • Improving prompts, tools, knowledge and model choices
  • Balancing quality, speed and cost
